Shachar Stern is a  music educator and freelance musician based in the Bay Area, California. Originally born in Ra'anana, Israel in 1999, Shachar's love for music flourished in his childhood. With a deep appreciation for artists like the Beatles, Queen, and David Bowie, he decided to embark on a musical journey at the age of 10 by taking up the guitar.

During his formative years from 2011 to 2017, Shachar honed his musical skills through two musical programs: the Ra’anana Music Conservatory Middle School Music Program (2011-2014) and the Metrowest High School music department (2014-2017). In this period, he not only discovered his perfect pitch but also taught himself piano by ear and delved into the world of jazz music. Shachar actively participated in various ensembles and youth summer musical workshops, including Berklee Guitar Sessions, Rimon Youth Summer Musical Workshops, and the Red Sea Jazz Festival Youth Program.

In 2017, Shachar relocated with his family to the Bay Area, California, where he pursued his passion for music at SJSU, earning a BA Degree in Jazz Studies from 2018 to 2022. His commitment to excellence was evident as he received both Dean’s Scholar and President Scholar recognitions, graduating with Magna Cum Laude Honors in 2022.

Inspired by his experiences and mentors, Shachar aspired to make a positive impact on students' lives through music education. This led him to start teaching music and enroll in the master’s degree program of Music Education- Autism's Concentration at Berklee College of Music. During his studies, he focused on music education for populations with learning and behavior difficulties, conducting research on topics such as music education and speech impairments, emotional regulation, joint attention, and executive functions. In 2023, Shachar received a student honoree award for his outstanding academic achievement. In May 2024, he completed his master's degree and received Summa Cum Laude Honoree.

Nowdays, Shachar Stern shares his passion for music by providing private guitar, piano, and music lessons in the Bay Area. He plays on a weekly basis at Congregation Shir Hadash Weekend Services and works with his rock band, Moldavite.
